Dr. Matthew Edwards, a Michigan native, attended Oakland University for his undergraduate and postgraduate studies. After earning his medical degree from Pikeville College School of Osteopathic Medicine in Kentucky, he returned home and completed his Internal Medicine Residency at McLaren Oakland and his Fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at McLaren Macomb. Dr. Edwards then earned a degree in interventional cardiology at St. John Macomb.

Through his fellowship, Dr. Edwards received extensive training in peripheral vascular disease, which remains one of his favorite aspects of treating cardiovascular disease. He has also attended numerous conferences throughout the country, where he has had the opportunity to learn about the latest advancements in treating patients with both peripheral arterial and peripheral venous disease.

Dr. Edwards is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease. He joined Cardiology Associates of Michigan in the summer of 2019 and is currently on staff at McLaren Macomb Medical Center, Henry Ford Macomb Hospital, St. John Macomb Hospital, St. John Hospital and Medical Center, and St. John River District Hospital. He is a member of the American Osteopathic Association and the American College of Cardiology.
